Dates:
Manditory Pre-Trip Meeting: July 16 - 7PM
Trip: July 20-24

We are excited for another year of ServeGR! This is our yearly trip where we work along side tons of non-profits and organizations here in Grand Rapids that are doing amazing work to care for the people of our city. This is a great experience for us all to learn some new things, get insight into the issues people are facing in Grand Rapids, and for us to learn how we can use our unique gifting to serve others.

High School Sign-ups will be opening this Sunday

Trip FAQ

  • All meals, transportation, accommodations for 4 nights and 5 days and a t-shirt!

  • This trip is for all invested Lifeline Middle School and High School students (grades 6-12).

Current 5th graders are not included on this trip! We will have a summer event for them in August!

  • Students will spend the day serving at various organizations around the Grand Rapids area. They will have an opportunity to learn what the organization does and how they impact our city before helping with a service project on site.

Monday morning will include a time of preparation to prepare our hearts and minds for what they will experience and learn and also how to engage at different organizations.

Some high school students will be helping another church run a children’s program and will therefore have a different schedule.

  • Our goal as a church is to not only know about the organizations and churches impacting our city for Christ, but to also be a part of it and serve. We believe we are all created, called and gifted to serve. We hope that each student going on this trip would leave understanding the needs around them and how God may use their gifts to bless others.

  • Students will be staying at Calvin University in the dorms. Most of the dorms are suite style, with a bathroom in the middle. Doors are locked and each student is responsible for keeping their own key.

Bedding including sheets and blankets as well as towels and fans are provided for each student.

Students will be separated by grade and gender in the dorms. Leaders and staff will be monitoring each dorm and will be housed throughout each floor.

  • Our hope for this trip is that students can fully immerse themselves in the work and people whom they are serving! We are asking that all students leave their phones at home for the duration of the trip.

Staff and Leaders will have their phones and be with students during work projects. We will provide contact information to all staff so you have our information as well. Thank you in advance!
