We will open our new series by affirming that honest questions about faith are not a weakness, but a normal and healthy part of following Jesus. Through Thomas’s question at the Last Supper in John 14, we see that Jesus welcomes curiosity and responds with clarity, identifying Himself as the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus meets us in our confusion and uncertainty, inviting us to stay close to Him rather than having everything figured out. Ultimately, faith isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about choosing trust and relationship with Jesus while we ask our questions.
We’re beginning our relationship series! “Outdated” will cover the questions of why, who, and how we date. Tonight, we are addressing the question “why” by talking about the gift of singleness. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul makes it quite clear that the life of a single person can be more fully devoted to the Lord than those who are married. Often, we view singleness as the gift no one wants to be stuck with, but the Bible explains it as a powerful gift of God. We’ll be explaining to students why singleness is a gift and how to use it properly.
