September 3 - Middle School
What we’re learning this week:
Tonight, we kicked off the year at Lifeline by talking about what makes this place special. Lifeline exists to help students grow in Truth, Relationships, and Experiences. We looked at how God’s Word equips us, how community encourages us, and how meaningful experiences point us closer to Jesus.
Bottom Line: Lifeline is a place to grow in Truth, Relationships, and Experiences that all point us to Jesus.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 10:24–25; John 14:
Small Group Time:
It’s the first week back at Lifeline! We recognize that a lot of your time in small group may be making introductions, catching up, or just getting back into the swing of things. Remember that these early weeks of small group time sets the tone for the rest of the year!
Discuss 1-3 questions
Share prayer requests and pray
Which of the three words [Truth, Relationships, or Experiences] do you think will matter most for you this year? Why?
How do you usually react when the Bible challenges or corrects you? (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
What makes it hard (or easy) for you to lean into friendships that point you toward God?
If you could describe what you want your small group to be like this year in one word, what would it be?
Next week preview:
Next week we’re kicking off our first series of the year in the book of Acts, called “Now What?”! We’ll look at how the early church spread the message of Jesus and followed him, even when it wasn’t easy. You’ll see how the same God who worked through the first believers is still working in and through us today.
