April 24 - Middle School

What we’re doing this week:

Where do I fit in? This is a big question that everyone wrestles with and if we are not careful, we can allow our desire to fit in to lead us to making decisions that we regret. If the crowd around us often values the things that we should avoid, what other options do we have? We can find our true belonging in relationship with God and His church.

Bottom Line: I work hard to fit in; I want to know that I belong.

Scripture: Acts 19:23-32; Genesis 1:27-28, John 1:12-13

Things to know:

  • We believe that gathering together to worship God, enjoy community, and open His Word is time well spent; this is where we can encounter God and grow closer to Him. To help our students be fully present with God and each other, phones and devices are no longer allowed at Middle School Lifeline. We ask students to leave their phones and devices in the car or at home so they can be fully present on Wednesday nights.

What if there is a family emergency and we need to contact our child at Lifeline? If there is a family emergency during Lifeline, contact the campus staff and we will be sure to work with you on connecting with your child. Staff contact numbers are posted at our front doors.

What if there is an emergency at Lifeline and our child needs to reach us?
Staff members have access to parent phone numbers and we will be sure to reach out to parents if there's an emergency.

How will my child know where to meet after Lifeline is over?
We encourage you to let your child know where you will be waiting in the parking lot when you drop them off so they know where to go when the night is over.

What if my child uses the Bible on his or her device?
We are encouraging all students and leaders to bring their physical Bibles to Lifeline this year so that they can grow in the habit of opening and learning how to find passages in their physical copy. We will also have additional Bibles at each campus available for students who forget to bring one.

  • We have launched a new Grow resource page to help students take practical next steps in areas of their faith. Some are more devotional in nature while others are meant to be a bit more information to help grow their understanding. A student can walk through these alone or it could be something you go through with them. The current topics we have are all available here on our Grow page.

  • We are so thankful for our volunteers who help us serve our 6th-12th grade students! Each week, our leaders arrive an hour before students to learn together about how to better lead their small groups. During this time, they share a meal together (usually just pizza--not the most exciting meal), learn something new, and build community. As a way to say "thank you" to them for pouring into our students, we would like to provide some variety to their meals a few times throughout the year. Below are links, by campus, to sign up to bring part of a meal to the Lifeline volunteers at your campus.
