September 24 - High School

What we’re learning this week:

You can know something with your brain without continuously taking the time to get to know it. It’s the same with the Holy Spirit; while our students might kind of, sort of, understand who the Holy Spirit is, we believe that we are called to continuously get to know Him. During this series, we will get to know who He is and explore what it looks like to spend time with Him.

This week is a discussion night! This is time set aside to open our Bible, engage in conversation, and grow closer to Jesus, not only as listeners, but as participants! In our conversation about the fruits of the spirit, students will discuss two “weeds” that could choke our growth towards being who God has called us to be: Legalism and Sinful Nature. In talking about both of these extremes, we will remember that both need the truth of the Gospel.

Bottom Line: You belong to Christ & you are walking with the Spirit.

Series Key Verse: Galatians 5:25 – Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Things to know:

  • We are encouraging our students to bring a physical bible to Lifeline this year! We’re going to be more intentional about opening it up and reading for ourselves as we walk through a teaching. If you our your student need assistance getting a bible, don’t hesitate to talk with our staff!

  • We have launched a new Grow resource page to help students take practical next steps in areas of their faith. Some are more devotional in nature while others are meant to be a bit more information to help grow their understanding. A student can walk through these alone or it could be something you go through with them. The current topics we have are all available here on our Grow page.

  • We believe at Ada Bible that community is important and that small groups play a big role in our spiritual growth. If you’re not in a small group, we’d love for you to consider getting connected.
