April 22
What we’re learning this week:
During this teaching, we will explore 2 key reasons God often seems difficult to find. Students will be challenged to consider what idols they have in their lives and what values their closest friends reinforce. Students will be encouraged that God very much wants to be found by them as they read His Word and get to know who He is.
Bottom Line: God is not hard to find.
Scripture: Acts 17:16-27
Small Group Time:
Luke described an idol as something we rely on for our comfort or purpose. What would you say is a potential idol in your life? What do you turn to when you’re stressed and overwhelmed?
What does it look like to rely on Jesus instead of that idol when you’re stressed or overwhelmed?
The people struggled to see God clearly because they were in a culture that was not accepting of Jesus. How open to Jesus would you say your inner circle of friends are?
Who in your life that helps you see God more clearly by the way they act and the way they talk? What would it look like to invest more deeply in that relationship?
With only a few weeks left in Lifeline, we can set a goal for reading a part of the Bible between now and then – is there a book of the Bible we want to try reading together as a group?
