February 25

What we’re learning this week:

This week, Luke will explore answers to the question: Why do I keep sinning? Many students struggle with the same reality that Paul processes: We love Jesus and want to do what is right, yet we choose sin! Luke will remind students that…

  1. They have a sin nature.

  2. They can experience glimpses of freedom in their walk with Christ.

  3. They will experience ultimate freedom in eternity.

  4. They should not confuse their struggle for their standing.

Bottom Line: Don’t confuse your struggle for your standing.
Scripture:
Romans 7:15-25

Small Group Time:

  • If you were to identify one area of your life that feels like a sin issue right now, what would it be? What is your current struggle?

  • Have you ever experienced the “glimpse of freedom” that Luke described? Where you overcame a sin habit or temptation? Share with the group

  • What is one way you can whack a mole? What is something practical you can do to resist temptation the next time you want to sin?

  • Have you decided to follow Jesus before? When did you make that decision?

  • Baptism registrations are happening right now! Is that a step you want to take?
