What we’re learning this week:
This week we kick off our Acts series by looking at the disciples’ first “Now What?” moment after Jesus went back to heaven. They didn’t know what to do next, but they trusted, obeyed, and waited — and when the Holy Spirit came, everything changed. Peter preached boldly, and thousands of people believed in Jesus. We will ask our students how their own “Now What?” moments could change if they trusted in Jesus when their unsure.
Bottom Line: When you’re asking “Now What?” → Trust Jesus.
Scripture: Acts 1:3-11; 2:1-4,14-41
Small Group Time:
Second week of Lifeline! Remember that tonight we can let our students know they’re known. Know their name, know their world, know their struggles. As you learn about their world and struggles, be thinking about how to encourage them to “Trust Jesus” with that specific area of their life.
Discuss 1-3 questions
Share prayer requests and pray
What’s one small “Now What?” decision you’ve had to make lately (school, friends, sports, etc.)?
Why do you think Jesus told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit instead of giving them all the answers right away?
When Peter preached, he reminded people of who Jesus was and what He did. If you had to explain Jesus in one sentence to a friend, what would you say?
How do you think trusting Jesus could change the way you handle your next “Now What?” moment?
What does trusting Jesus in your current “Now What?” moments?
Next week preview:
Next week we’re kicking off our first series of the year in the book of Acts, called “Now What?”! We’ll look at how the early church spread the message of Jesus and followed him, even when it wasn’t easy. You’ll see how the same God who worked through the first believers is still working in and through us today.
