What we’re learning this week:
While we’re having converstaions with parents, students will be hearing a teaching about how everyone faces hardship, and how we respond—whether we vent, stuff it, isolate, or distract—reveals where our hope truly rests. Paul writes to believers in Rome who were suffering deeply and reminds them that real hope isn’t just a feeling or a slogan like “Just trust God.” It’s something solid, anchored in two unshakable truths:
Bottom Line: True hope grows through hardship
Scripture: Romans 5:1-8

Small Group Time:
When you face something hard—stress, disappointment, loss—how do you usually respond? (Vent? Stuff it? Distract yourself? Something else?)
Paul says our hope is built on something that really happened in history: Jesus’ death and resurrection. Why does it matter that our faith is based on real events and not just nice ideas?
What does it mean for God’s love to be poured out into our hearts? Have you ever felt God’s love or presence in a personal way?
Romans 5 says that “suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope.” How have you seen God use a hard season to grow you or help someone else?
