November 5
What we’re learning this week:
Tonight we will see that Paul reminds both the Jewish and Gentile believers that no one is righteous on their own — everyone has fallen short of God’s standard. We can’t fix our brokenness by comparing ourselves to others or pretending everything’s fine. However we know, it is only through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts, we’re made right with God and given a new kind of life that rests in His grace, not our performance.
Bottom Line: We’ve all fallen short, but Jesus makes us right.
Scripture: Romans 3:23-24

Small Group Time:
- Paul talked about two groups of believers who were arguing about who was “doing faith” the right way. Why do you think it’s so easy for people (even Christians) to compare themselves to each other?
- When you think about your own life, what are some ways you might “turn up the volume” instead of facing what’s really going on in your heart?
- Paul says that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. WIth that in mind, why is that actually good news when we understand what Jesus has done for us?
- What does it look like for you personally to put your trust in Jesus instead of trying to prove yourself or be “good enough”?
