What we’re learning this week:
Jesus laid out some pretty difficult guidelines for being his disciple: denying yourself, carrying a cross, losing your life. Tonight’s teaching will cover why Jesus would ask so much from us and how it really is more than we could ask for.
Bottom Line: Surrender leads to more than you can imagine
Scripture: Matthew 16:24-27
Car ride home questions:
What are the two ways Christians settle?
What does it look like to give our whole lives to Jesus?
Upcoming Events:
We can't wait for another year of life changing truth, experiences and relationships and look forward to the first night of the Lifeline year!
This weekend is a chance for us as High School Lifeline to take a step away from the business of the fall season and take some time to rest and focus on Jesus. We'll have some games, teaching and worship, but there is a lot of free time in our schedule to just sit and chat with other students and scheduled time to spend reading, journaling and in prayer.
Christmas Dinner is our annual get together with all of High School Lifeline. We enjoy a meal together, sing some Christmas songs, and hear a teaching from the bible as we head into Christmas and winter break. We also encourage students to dress up in their best Christmas sweater!
Snow Camp is our annual winter retreat for all of Lifeline. This year, we will have an exclusive weekend retreat experience for just our High School students!
Our Lifeline staff has a fun weekend planned to celebrate and encourage our senior students and their leaders. We’ll be staying in downtown Grand Rapids for the weekend!
Small Group Night is a night dedicated to investing in the relationships within a Lifeline small group. Each group plans together a night out to simply hang out together, have fun, conversation and create some memories.
