April 24 - Middle School

What we’re doing this week:

Where do I fit in? This is a big question that everyone wrestles with and if we are not careful, we can allow our desire to fit in to lead us to making decisions that we regret. If the crowd around us often values the things that we should avoid, what other options do we have? We can find our true belonging in relationship with God and His church.

Bottom Line: I work hard to fit in; I want to know that I belong.

Scripture: Acts 19:23-32; Genesis 1:27-28, John 1:12-13

Small Group:

Share one takeaway from Luke’s teaching and pick 2-3 questions to work through. To close share prayer requests and pray together.

  • When you were watching the experiment that Luke showed us, do you think you would’ve been like the girl and stood up with everyone, or would you have stayed seated? Why?

  • Is there anything you think is wrong that you find yourself doing because you feel pressure to fit in?

  • What is more important to you: fitting in with people/friends, or your relationship with God?

    • Sub question: Do your actions follow that? (More towards those that say their relationship with God is more important)

  • Read Hebrews 10:24-25 again. Luke described how each individual was created by God and in His image. We were created to be in relationship with God, to be in community with one another, and to spur (encourage) one another towards love and good works. Knowing that, what is one way you can actively live out your faith this week towards others?

  • What does it mean to be a part of God’s family?
