January 31 - Middle School
What we’re learning this week:
Let’s be honest, consistently reading the Bible can be challenging. We are distracted, we get confused, and we fill our lives with other activities. We believe that the Bible is the word of God and we want to help our students build the habit of reading it! So tonight, we are going to take a break from our regularly scheduled preaching and hear from people from our campus as they share what has helped them engage in the habit of Bible reading and what they have learned from studying it!
Bottom Line: The Bible guides, comforts, and challenges us!
Scripture: Psalm 119:105, Matthew 4:4, 2 Timothy 3:16
Small Group Discussion
Go over the key verse for the series (Same one from “the story of God” series!), discuss 1-3 of the small group questions, make a plan with your group to read the book of John this month and close in prayer – Consider having students pair up and pray for each other as they read the Bible this week.
Key Verse: All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16
1. What is the one takeaway you want to remember from tonight’s conversation?
2. Has the Bible ever guided you through darkness or uncertainty?
3. Is there a verse, story, or scripture that has brought you comfort?
4. Have you ever had a teaching or something from the Bible challenge the way you were currently living? Explain!
5. How is reading John going? How far are you into the book and what have you been learning?
