November 24 - High School
What we’re learning this week:
This week is our night of prayer! This is a night of Lifeline, dedicated to lifting up our request to God. Throughout the night, we will be going through the Psalms and praying for…
Other nations
Our city and neighborhoods
Praying through Scripture
The sin in our lives
That we would represent God in our lives moving forward
Students will be exposed to the variety of ways they can pray and will be directed to the Psalms as a great resource to put to words the things they may be feeling and experiencing! We are looking forward to learning and experiencing prayer through the psalms!
Bottom Line: God wants to hear from us.
Scripture: Psalm 67, 122, 23, 51, and 121
Small Group Time:
Gauge your group for if you want to dive into a discussion about their prayer lives or if the time would be better spent just hanging out in the atrium! Tonight, either option could work depending on if your group feels “done” after going through three prayer practices together in the small group setting. Here are some questions that can help facilitate discussion if your group wants to dialogue about prayer!
How do you feel God spoke to you or met you tonight? Is there something specific you want to make sure you remember from tonight?
Would you say that you have a regular rhythm or routine of prayer that you like?
I’m going to read the different ways to pray and then you tell me which version of prayer would you say you engage in the most.
Praying for other nations
Praying for your city, neighborhood, or the people in your lives.
Praying as you read scripture
Praying for the sin in your life
Which practice would you say you engage in the least?
Do you think we take prayer seriously in small group? What should we do differently in small group to make prayer more of a focus?
Next week preview:
We are off next week! We hope you have an amazing week celebrating thanksgiving as a family! Following thanksgiving, we have the opportunity to hear from a student at each campus as they present a teaching they have been thoughtfully and prayerfully preparing for their Lifeline peers!
