It is the final week of our “Not Normal” teaching series! As we conclude this series about relationships, sexuality, and going against the norms of the greater culture around us, we are going to focus on the extravagant grace of Jesus. When the religious leaders bring a woman caught in adultery to Jesus, he shows her his perfect grace and love in a moment when she felt shame and brokenness. Students will be reminded that Jesus has given us the gift of his love, which unlike the often conditional love experienced from others. This week is an invite night and students are encouraged to bring a new friend to experience Lifeline!

Read MoreAs we continue our Not Normal teaching series, we will discuss the common misconception that we often live into: That God only cares about the spiritual part of our lives. This belief can cause us to diminish sexual sin, dismiss God’s calling on our lives, and place our faith journey into a smaller box than it was ever intended to be placed in. Students will be reminded that because God created us and redeemed us, we are called to follow him with all of us.
Read MoreAs we begin our series about relationships and sexuality, we will look at the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. Joseph had hundreds of reasons to go his own way and sin against God. In walking through Joseph's background and the cultural norms of his day, students will be asked to consider the many reasons why they would have to go their own way. Students will be compelled to begin this series with a commitment to trust God and align themselves with His ways just like Joseph did.

While it’s common to perceive the church as merely an event that you go to, God’s idea of the church is that it would be a family that His people are a part of. Students will be challenged and encouraged to fully engage in the family of God by seeing themselves as a key part of God’s kingdom here and now!

Read MoreWe are tackling two big theological topics: humanity and the Spirit. By looking at Romans 8 and the story of redemption in the Biblical narrative, we’ll determine why our human nature is the way that it is and how God redeems it. All humanity has a natural thirst for God, but we attempt to quench that thirst in the wrong ways: by following the desires of our “flesh”. The truth we will discover is how we were made to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to follow His desires.

As we explore Psalm 19, we will see that the journey of faith is an invitation to see God at work, know who He is through His Word, love Him personally, and follow His ways.

While we are off for the summer we still encourage students to scheduling something together so they can connect with their small group as those fun hangouts can create great memories and build relationships. Also in July we will have students and leaders serving internationally and locally on two Lifeline trips, so we ask for prayer over that time and the work that will be taking place!
