November 8 - Middle School
What we’re learning this week:
Jacob is one of the most important figures of the Old Testament; in fact, God Himself is often described as the “God of Jacob”. When we explore Jacob’s story and discover that this influential figure had his fair share of mistakes, we will be reminded that God can use anyone.
Picture this: your brother vowed that he was going to kill you and you ran away from your family… 20 years pass, and you prepare to see your brother for the first time since he made that promise. As we continue the story of Jacob, we will look at what Jacob did in his fear and worry and learn what we should do in ours!
Bottom Line: In your worry, hold on to God and let go of control.
Scripture: Genesis 32:1-12, 33 / 1 Peter 5:7
