October 30 - Middle School

What we’re learning this week:

As we conclude our teaching series about relationships, Cori Olsson (Lifeline’s Director of Operations) will be talking to our students about how Jesus has called his followers to function in all relationships they have. As followers of Jesus, we are called to look out for and humbly serve those in our midst; while this may apply to future dating relationships and marriage relationships, students can begin putting this into practice today with how they treat their friends, family, and others.

Bottom Line: Jesus-centered relationships are made up by Jesus-centered people.
Scripture: John 13:12-17 & 34-35

Small Group Time:

  1. Share one thing that stood out from the practice we did tonight.

  2. What relationship are you loving really well at right now? (eg., friends, siblings, parents, classmates, teachers etc.)? Which one could use some help?

  3. According to Jesus’ example, what can it look like to love someone who is hard to love?

  4. What is one step you can take this week to move towards who you want to be in the future?

  5. Let’s pray for each other! How do you need2 God’s help to love well this week (e.g., patience with siblings, respect for parents, grace with classmates)?

Next week preview:

Next week, we begin a new series called “Blind, Sick, and Dead” where we will be exploring three stories of Jesus’ healings. When we walk through these miracles of Jesus, we will be reminded of His power to heal our spiritual blindness, encounter our spiritual sickness, and raise us back to life for eternity!
