What we’re learning this week:

As we begin a new series walking through the letter of Ephesians, we discover that Paul wrote to a specific group of people in a specific time; and while these people lived 2000 years ago in a whole different part of the world, we can relate to their experience. Students will be reminded that the love of God displayed in Jesus gives them a more secure identity and stable footing than any feelings of being new, experiencing change, and living under pressure.

Bottom Line: You are welcomed into God’s family
Scripture: Ephesians 1: 3-14

Lots of great options for questions! Lean into having a longer discussion as this is an opportunity for you to establish some good discussion habits as we begin this new series!

  • What is one thing new you learned tonight?

  • What word do you relate to the most right now and why? Change / Pressure / New

  • What does being a part of God’s family mean to you?

  • Next week is invite night!! Who can you invite into our Lifeline community? Make a plan to bring them!

  • Have the group choose a word to discuss | Change / Pressure / New

    • Change: What change in your life is the most stressful right now and why

    • Pressure: What area in your life do you feel the most pressure to be like everyone else and why?

    • New: What are you hoping to learn this year in Lifeline about Jesus?

  • What can we do as a group to help each other remember who we are this year?

What makes the message of Jesus different than the other messages of the world? What makes following Jesus different than following a different world religion? Next week we will talk about an important word called GRACE.
