October 19
What we’re learning this week:
As we launch a new series we’ll be covering the reality of sin’s infection of human nature and the world around us. Looking at Paul’s progression in Romans 7-8, we’ll uncover the problem that’s before us, and the solution we have in Christ.
Bottom Line: Jesus fixed the sin problem
Scripture: Romans 7:21-8:4
Small Group Time:
THIS WILL BE A BIBLE STUDY SMALL GROUP.
Have students open and read the following passage with you: Titus 2:11-12
1After hearing tonight's teaching and reading Titus what do you think Jesus’ sacrifice was meant to do?
What does this passage teach us to say “no” to? What does that look like for you?
What’s something you do regularly that you get upset about, especially when you “want to do good”. (i.e. I get mad at my sibling, I lust after people, I cuss sometimes)
How accepting are you of God’s grace? Was the practice of confession difficult for you to believe and trust tonight?
Next week preview:
Next week we will be talking about the process of sanctification and how we are called to live according to the Spirit rather than our own flesh and it’s desires.
