We are off this week, Sunday October 12 as we will be returning from a weekend retreat with many of our students. We resume next Sunday the 19th with a new teaching series titled Transformed which will look at how God changes us and makes our heart more like his. This is a part of our overall yearly focus to become more like Jesus every day!
Read MoreAs we begin a new series walking through the letter of Ephesians, we discover that Paul wrote to a specific group of people in a specific time; and while these people lived 2000 years ago in a whole different part of the world, we can relate to their experience. Students will be reminded that the love of God displayed in Jesus gives them a more secure identity and stable footing than any feelings of being new, experiencing change, and living under pressure.
Read MoreThis week we are finishing our devoted series by returning to Acts 2:42 and focusing on the Disciples’ devotion to the Apostles’ teachings. The Apostles’ teachings focused on Jesus’ instructions for the church and are also a testament to his life death and resurrection. In this teaching we will focus on how devotion to Scripture can be an agent of transformation in our life.
Read MoreAs we conclude our series on the first half of Acts, we are going to look at the interaction between Peter and Cornelius. Once Jesus came onto the scene, the Jewish understanding of who was invited into God’s family needed to expand. God was inviting Peter to see that the message of Christ was not meant to be guarded but rather meant to be shared!
Read MoreJesus provides us with an outline for how He sees the world and leads him to defeat everyday worries. This process is prayer. A life interwoven and covered with prayer that views life beyond everyday trivial worry and into a life that seeks first the Kingdom and God’s righteousness!
Read MoreAt Lifeline tonight we are going to talk about the interaction Saul has with Jesus on the road to Damascus. Saul was fully against Jesus and his followers, persecuting them and hunting them down. On the road to Damascus Jesus met him, and despite what he had done Jesus invited him to be a part of his family and to become an important part of the early church family. We want students to see how if that was true for Saul, then it’s true for them. That God wants to meet them, despite their past or what they’ve done.
Read MoreWe begin a new series titled “Devoted” and we will be focusing on fellowship. We will talk about how the early church practiced fellowship and have an opportunity to engage in it as a group in real time as we eat a meal and enjoy conversation!
Read MoreThis week we will look at the very first days of the early church in Acts 2. When 3,000 people believed in Jesus, the disciples had to figure out “Now What?” for this brand-new community of faith. Their answer was to build around five key practices: Evangelism, Discipleship, Community, Service, and Worship. These same pillars can create a healthy environment for our faith to grow today.
Read MoreJesus laid out some pretty difficult guidelines for being his disciple: denying yourself, carrying a cross, losing your life. Tonight’s teaching will cover why Jesus would ask so much from us and how it really is more than we could ask for.
Read MoreThis week we kick off our Acts series by looking at the disciples’ first “Now What?” moment after Jesus went back to heaven. They didn’t know what to do next, but they trusted, obeyed, and waited — and when the Holy Spirit came, everything changed. Peter preached boldly, and thousands of people believed in Jesus. We will ask our students how their own “Now What?” moments could change if they trusted in Jesus when their unsure.
Read MoreThis week we will be talking about Jesus’ invitation to his disciples to follow him. What was that conversation like? What convinced them to ‘drop their nets’ and follow Jesus. The disciples knew that following Jesus meant they needed to be ready to follow nothing else.
Read MoreTonight, we kicked off the year at Lifeline by talking about what makes this place special. Lifeline exists to help students grow in Truth, Relationships, and Experiences. We looked at how God’s Word equips us, how community encourages us, and how meaningful experiences point us closer to Jesus.
