As we conclude our teaching series about relationships, Cori Olsson (Lifeline’s Director of Operations) will be talking to our students about how Jesus has called his followers to function in all relationships they have. As followers of Jesus, we are called to look out for and humbly serve those in our midst; while this may apply to future dating relationships and marriage relationships, students can begin putting this into practice today with how they treat their friends, family, and others.
Read MoreDid you know that Jesus himself specifically addressed issues of love and relationships? During this teaching, we will visit Jesus in three specific scenes from the book of Matthew where he speaks to the topic of love, sexuality, and relationships. Each scene shows us something unique and important about these topics: That the sin we battle is a big deal and it’s wise to make a plan about it, that Jesus affirms God’s design for sex and marriage, and that Jesus moved toward all people offering them love and forgiveness no matter their past.
Read MoreAs we begin our 3-week series where we explore exactly what Jesus said about relationships, we begin by talking about the very foundation of love itself. The foundation of love itself is God’s love for us in sending Jesus to redefine us today and forever. Students will be reminded that living into the love of Jesus instead of defining love by other means will lead to them having fulfilled and purposeful lives.
Read MoreTonight we will be looking at Mark’s account of Jesus calming the storm in order to understand who it is we pray to! This story shows us several characteristics about Christ that will aid our ability to trust him and give him control. We will cover how Jesus cares for us and whenever he is in control, the result is peace.
Read MoreTonight’s teaching will be looking at the crowd’s interaction with Jesus after he feeds the 5000. We’ll be learning how sometimes our prayers to Jesus can become “transactional”. This type of prayer actually gives us less than a relational prayer. The crowd came to the Son of God and only asked for bread.
In tonight’s teaching, we learn how prayer is more simple than we think. Prayer begins with the removal of our distractions. By looking at the story of Mary and Martha, we found three fundamental things about prayer: Place (being where Jesus is), Posture (open and listening), and Priority (first things first).
As we conclude our series Walking with Jesus series, we are going to look at Jesus’ words while he was on trial with the high priest. Jesus’ claims of being the Messiah ultimately led to his sentencing of death on the cross. As we walk through this scene, we will be confronted with the reality that Jesus did what he said he would do and invites us to follow him with our lives. Students will be given the opportunity to place their faith in Jesus for the first time in response to tonight’s message.
We’re continuing to explore who Jesus is and how he impacts our everyday lives! As we walk through a scene where Jesus forgives and heals a paralytic man, our students will see that Jesus is capable of healing and forgiving us. Students will be challenged to open their hearts to Jesus and invite him into whatever they find themselves facing.
As we begin our year of focusing on the stories and teachings of Jesus, Luke is going to encourage our Lifeline students to not only recognize Jesus as a big deal in history, but to treat him as the main thing in their own lives by walking with him each day. Students will be challenged that when we commit ourselves to Jesus, he has the power to transform us from the inside out.

While we are off for the summer we still encourage students to scheduling something together so they can connect with their small group as those fun hangouts can create great memories and build relationships. Also in July we will have students and leaders serving internationally and locally on two Lifeline trips, so we ask for prayer over that time and the work that will be taking place!
